Wave-based control for nonreciprocal acoustics using a planar array of secondary sources

چکیده

There has been significant interest in the design of nonreciprocal acoustic devices that allow waves to be perfectly transmitted one direction, whilst propagating opposite direction are blocked or reflected. Previously proposed have broken symmetry transmission by introducing nonlinearities resonant cavities. However, these typically limitations, such as signal distortions and bandwidth over which behaviour can achieved is narrow. This paper will investigate how active control used minimise reflected independently achieve sound absorption using a planar array secondary sources two-dimensional environment. The advantage system it fully adaptable, means directivity also reversed. performance wave-based investigated for range angles incidence its limitations explored.

the methods which are used to analyze microstrip antennas, are divited into three categories: empirical methods, semi-empirical methods and full-wave analysis. empirical and semi-empirical methods are generally based on some fundamental simplifying assumptions about quality of surface current distribution and substrate thickness. thses simplificatioms cause low accuracy in field evaluation. ful...

Nonreciprocal reflection of a subwavelength hole array.

We present measurements of the wavelength-dependent reflectivity of a subwavelength metal hole array on a glass substrate. We compare the observed resonant structures with those found in transmission and note a nonreciprocity under illumination from the air versus the glass side. This can be used to verify on which interface the surface plasmons are resonantly excited and to estimate the losses...

Wave-based numerical methods for acoustics

Recent developments in wave-based numerical methods are reviewed in application to problems in acoustics where small perturbations of pressure and velocity propagate on a steady compressible mean flow. In the most general case, such wave fields are represented by the solution of the linearized Euler equations. In the case of steady time-harmonic solutions in a homogeneous medium and in the abse...
